imical to democracy, either at
the time of his naturalization or
during the five years immedi
ately preceding it."
Fernandez, a resident of San
Juan, was born in Spain in
1897, came to Puerto Rico in
1915, was naturalized in March,
1942, and joined the falange in
January, 1B38, Biddle said.

Doolittle Says

Gen. James Doolittle, command
er of the Eighth air force, as
surred the American people last
night, that after Hitler Is fin
ished with, "we are going back
to Tokyo in full array and with
mighty allies."
He issued his message in a
radiocast, paying tribute to the
men of the U.S.S. Hornet, from
which he led the air raid on
Tokyo in April. 1942.
Doolittle acknowledged that
Hitler "must be finished first,"
but added, "when this Is accom
plished we hope to go to the
Pacific and join American, Brit
ish and allied forces who are al
ready winning land, sea and aTr
victories of increasing magnitude."
The word Alaska If from the
