Sam Matheny, Silver Falls pro perty owner, has made a pro position to the county court to purchase a 40-acre piece of log ged off timberland which lies in the middle of Matheny s hold ings near the Silver Falls re- crealionaly area. It has no road lo it, he said, but will round out his property. Matheny stated he is now in tho midsf of negotia tions with the government to trade 200 acres of land he owns in that area for 200 acres of; government and Oregon & Cali fornia grant land to straighten; up boundary lines and also as a beneficial proposal for the re-1 crealional area and boys' and girls' camps there, Matheny said some of his land is bisected by Silver creek near where swimming pools for the youth camps are situated and by making the trade it will take the sheep and goats run by Ma theny away from I he creek and slop possible pollution.
