Smith, 2310 Fourth street, bartender at the Brown Derby on North Commercial street, is in a critical condition at the Salem General hospital and Charles Edgar Adams, giv ing Huston, Tex., as his home ad dress, is being hold in the city jail on a charge of disorderly conduct involving a stabbing as sault, pending the outcome of Smith's wounds.
