first lady, presided at luncheon In
her North Fourteenth street resi
dence this afternoon in compliment
to Mrs. Walter Pearson, who Is In
the capital during the legislative
session.
A group of Mrs. Pearson's close
friends made up the guest list. The
George Washington birthday theme
and patriotic colors were used by
Mrs. Sprague in the table appoint
ments. Miss Martha Sprague assis
ted her mother.

the limelight on the campus this, week-end as members of the sororities
entertain In honor of their new members and pledges and fraternities
hold their annual open houses. Members of the Delta Tau Gamma soror
ity are honoring their new members and pledges at a formal date dinner
party at the State Street dining
room Saturday night. The landing
of Noah's Ark will be the theme for
the table decorations with a minia
ture ark centering the table and
tiny animals wending their way
from the ark. Animal vases will hold
bunches of violets and bouquets of
violets will mark the places for the
honored guests. The menus will be
,tlny arks and favors will be small
glass animals. Miss Ruth Jones is In
general charge of the dinner and
