The con test will start at 1:30 o'clock and many of Mays' boys will see action. There will be no admission charge and visitors are welcome. The school Is functioning smooth ly and growing. Large Fish Ladder Built at Stayton Stayton The state fish commis sion has completed a large fish lad der adjacent to the Mountain States Power company plant, which will enable the salmon to travel up from the power tall race into the Gard ner power ditch and thenco on into the river. Tills was made necessary because the current in the tall race attracted the fish, and once In that channel they could not go on up. and It appears contrary to Uielr habits to travel down stream at this time of the year. The sight of hundreds of salmon of all sizes trav eling up the fish way Is of great in terest, and is attracting many visi tors. Pratum The Pratum Emman uel Mennonite church was the scene of a beautiful wedding Sun day afternoon, June 16, when Miss Lydia Gerig became the bride Theodore Witiham. Rev. Maurice deVrles read the single ring cere mony in front of an arch entwined with green fem and red roses. On either side were tall candelabra and in the foreground a number palms. The candles were lighted by Miss Beulah Gerig and Miss Sarah Gerig. Both wore frocks of pink, Preceding the ceremony Miss Coramae and Miss Carmajean Hof' fer, twin sisters, sang "I Love You Truly" and "Because." They wore yellow lace over satin. Irvan Branch accompanied them and played the wedding marches. The bride wore a gown of white taffeta with square neck and puffed sleeves. Her finger tip veil was held in place with a wreath of or ange blossoms. She carried a bou quet of pink and white roses and a shower of rosebuds. Miss Laura Gerig was maid honor for her sister. She wore gown of powder blue and carried a bouquet of sweet peas. Little Laurlne Fisher and Bobby Gerig, niece and nephew of the bride, carried small baskets with spring flowers. Laurlr wore floor length dress of yellorf taffeta Little Bobby wore a yellow satin blouse and light trousers. Elmer Wltham acted as best man for his cousin. The ushers were Walter Knuth and Harlow Klbby. Following the ceremony a recep tion was held at the home of the bride's mother. Those serving were Irene Knuth, Mlna Gerig, Lucille Roth, Emma Hersch, Gladys Gerig and Thelma Gerig. Burns' tee shot bounced squarely on the back of a bird standing in the fairway. Both the bird and the shot died on the spot.
