The day was spent quietly due to the ill health of Mr. Worden, who has not been well for some time. An informal family dinner was held witli covers placed for Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Word-.n and children, David, Glen and Beth, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Worden of Salem, Mrs. Jennie Lick Hubbard unf two grandchil dren of Portland and Mrs. John Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Worden were mar ried in Petersburg, Nebr., and short ly afterward CHme to Oregon where they have since resided. They have lived In this community for more than thirty years. Mr. Worden will celebrate his 85th birthday on New Year's day. Mrs, Clark mokes her home with her son Lee Clark. The Clark fomily lived in the Middle Grove district for many years prior to their removal to Sheridan last winter. John gave a very interesting talk on her trip to the New York fair this summer at the regular meeting of the Wom en's club Thursday afternoon. The club will again sponsor a minstrel show, with Mrs. Kathryn Wcddle as general chairman and Mrs. Ruth Spaniol ticket sales chairman. It will be presented the latter part of November. Delegates to the county federation of women's clubs were chosen and are as follows: Mrs. Margaret An dersen, Mrs. Grace Neibert, Mrs. Maude Beauchamp and Mrs. Bertha Hughes. Alternates are Mrs. Mar ion Klecker, Mrs. E. Miller and Mrs. Fred Berger. The meeting will be held on Friday, October 27, at Union Hill. Goodwill Club at Ruble Residence Lincoln The Goodwill club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. D. R. Ruble with Mrs. Jack Jessup assis tant hostess. The rooms were a bower of autumn leaves, African marigolds and dahlias. The business meeting was con ducted by Mrs. W. R. Edwards, president. A report of the last meeting was read by the secretary treasurer, Mrs. Ivan Merrick. It was decided to use a fund for in terior work on the Lincoln school house and Mrs. Jack Jessup and Mrs. Martha Burt were appointed on the committee. The present of ficers, Mrs. W. R. Edwards, presi dent, and Mrs. Ivan Merrick, secretary-treasurer, will be retained through the ensuing year. The club was presented with a quilt top by Mrs. Ruble, who is famous for her quilts.
