Nov. 21 UP) Norway and Britain today mourned the passing of Norway BiglLsh-bom Queen Maud, who died in a London nurs ing home early Sunday of a heart attack four days after an abdomin al operation. The queen was 68 years old. Aunt of King George VI of Great Britain and last surrlvng child of Edward VII, her death came ao suddenly only a nurse was at her bedside. King Haakon of Norway was at Buckingham palace when he has been staying since the queen's grave Illness brought him hurrying from Oslo. The queen died 13 years to the day after her mother, Queen Alexandra. Thus the royal generation fathered by Edward VII ends while strange ly the previous generation children of Queen Victoria still survives through Princess Louise, 60. the Duke of Connaught, 88, and Prin cess Beatrice, 81. Norway, encouraged by earlier fa vorable news from the queen's bed side, was saddened when an official broadcast of King Haakon's message to the London Norwegian church told of her death. "God has taken my queen from me this night and it is a heavy loss for me to bear, though I well un derstand it Is His will," said the simple words of the customarily shy monarch. Michigan People Guests Amity Mr. and Mrs. Cemy of Michigan were guests her recently at the home of his sister and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Mauser. Because of conflicting stories told by those In the accident and by wit nesses, the Inquest was decided up on. One story la that the Nash se dan swung to the center of the highway when an automobile ahead slowed preparatory to making a right turn from the highway. The other version Is that there was no automobile ahead of the Nash car but that Dunn had driven his truck to the center of the highway In an attempt to pass a ear ahead of him. "Billy" Kitchen was a star bas ketball player for Salem high school. Nash was a member of the Salem high school basketball team several years ago, playing In at least one state championship tournament and later was a member of the Willam ette university team. Since his school days he has been active In amateur sports, playing indepen dent basketball and was Interested In bowling. Surviving Kitchen are his mother, Mrs. Mabel Kitchen, route 1; two sisters, Zelma and Ruth Kitchen, and two brothers, Robert and Lome (Squee) Kitchen. Nash, who man aged the Nash Furniture store. Is survived by his widow; 3-year old daughter, Sandra Lee Nash; moth er, Mrs. Cora M. Diamond Robber Pleads Not Guilty Dominie Musaeco, who la charg ed with the burglary last Thursday night, of about $3,500 worth of dia mond rings from the Hartman brothers' Jewelry store, pleaded not guilty in Justice court today and preliminary hearing was set for 1 o'clock this afternoon. The dia monds were taken from a show window by the cutting of the glass.
