Jerry Oastineau, Williamette uni versity hurler on the mound for the Senators, yielded but 5 hits and whiffed 16 men. Eder and Manager Hunt MARION SQUAD WINS DISTRICT TITLE, 15 TO 2 Woodburn Woodbum's Marion county Junior League baseball team annexed the district championship by a smashing 19-2 victory over the Hlilsboro Juniors at Legion Park here Sunday afternoon. Hlilsboro opened with a run in the first Inn ing but Lee, Woodbum's first batter In the locals' half of the first, drew a base on balls and scored on Mey ers' single to tie the count. Not to be outdone, the HUlsburo lads came back with another aeon In the sec ond frame and going Into the third the Washington county team held a 2-1 lead. Cant, who had drawn a walk, tied the score In the third when he crossed the plate on a sin gle by Erland. Woodburn added two more In the fourth on two hits and an error. The fifth was scoreless but in the sixth, Jensen, Hlilsboro speed bailer, completely lost control and before the Woodburn team was re tired six runners bad crossed the plate on six walks, a hit batsman and two singles. From that point It was Just a question of how many runs the Marlon county team could score. They chalked up another In the seventh and addeo four In the eighth on an error, a walk and dou bles by C. Reed, Lee and Oant. "Spud" Erland led the assault for Woodburn with 3 hits out of 5. Farthing, woodburn pitcher, held his opponents to five scattered hits. never allowing more than one an inning. His team mates fielded very loosely behind him, committing ten mlsplays. Farthing struck out four batters and walked oniy one. Jensen, on the mound for the visitors, was found for nine hits by Coach Pete DeQulre's hitters. Jensen walked nine and hit one by a pitched ball. Van Dunlin, who took over the mound after two were out In the sixth, walked home and allowed four hits. Toledo shared the top rung of the Oregon state baseball league with Salem today as a result of the former team's 3 to 0 victory over Hop Gold In week-end play. Salem and Toledo each have won four and lost one. Salem was Idle yesterday. Hop Gold, previously tied with Salem for the leadership, dropped behind the leaders In third place. Bend maintained fourth ranking with three victories and three de feats by trouncing Albany 11 to 1. The latter team has not won a game. Eugene took a firm hold on fifth ranking by defeating Woodburn 8 to 3. Toledo owed Its victory largely to the seven hit pitching of Ted Pil lette. He kept the bingles well scattered.
