Rev. Guy L. Drill will read the service in the presence of the two immediate families and few intimate friends. The bride will wear a pastel blue suit. Her hat will be yellow and her accessories will be white. She will wear a corsage of rosebuds. Mr. and Mrs. Don Primrose of Eunene will be the only attendants. Fallowing a short wedding trip the couple will be at home at 1140 South 15th street. The bride-to-be Is the daughter of Thornton B. Holeman of North Howell. She attended school in Juneau, Alaska. Mr. Lehman is the . son of Mr. and Mrs. August Leh man. He attended Salem schools and for the past nine years has been pressman at the Capital journal, A. A. U. W. Recent Bride Complimented Mrs. John Thompson, a recem bride, was the inspiration for kitchen shower Tuesday evening at the home or Mrs. Russell Hume in Summer street. The color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the table arrangements and with roses and syringa about the rooms. The gifts were presented in a huge pink box with a large white bow. Delta Phis to Be Complimented The Delta Phi Mothers' club will honor active members with a pic nic at the Court street chapter house from 4 until 6:30 o'clock Sun day afternoon. Patronesses, hon orary members and the families of members have been bidden. The committee in charge includes Mrs. David W. Pugh, Mrs. Walter H. Smith and Mrs. w. R. Speck. Miss Taylor in Splendid Recital Miss Hortense Taylor, violinist and student of Miss Mary SchulU, presented her senior recital before . a large audience at Waller ball last night. Miss Taylor handled her difficult program with admirable ease and showed great growth in her techm cal powers since her junior recital last year. Miss Ina Bennett was the accompanist. Mrs. Mary Ferber, department president of the Daughters of Union Kiivu war veterans, win pay an of ficial visit to the local organization Friday. The group will meet at the armory that evening at 8 o'clock and an interesting program is being arranged. The affair was given by the Postal Clerks' auxiliary at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Drorbaugh in Court street. Albany Formation of a women's , auxiliary and nomination of offic ers and directors for the coming year were features of the meeting of the Albany Lyons club Tuesday. Election by the auxiliary resulted as follows: Mrs. Lyle Bain, presi dent; Mrs. C. von Hickman, vice president; Mrs. Emmftt Konzelman, secretary;. Mrs. Richard R. Levy, treasurer. Assisting in the organization of the auxiliary were Mi Floyd South, Portland, state auxiliary president; Mrs. Ed Shea of Portland, Mrs. Frank Oilkey and Mrs Walter Kuhn of Newport. Nominations for the Lions club are to be voted on at the first meeting in June. The Three Link club will meet at the I. O. O. F. hall Friday after noon at 2:30 o'clock. W. club has re- ceived an invitation from the Fort- land club to attend a picnic dinner to be given at the Portland muni cipal airport Thursday evening, June 4 at 6:30 o'clock. Royal Neighbors Meet at Cabin The Royal Neighbors Sewing club entertained at a no-host luncheon at the cabin at the fairgrounds Wednesday. Plans were made to fur nish the cabin more completely at an early date. Singing was a di version of the afternoon. The next meeting will be held at the cabin June 3 with Mrs. Dora Pratt acting as hostess. M. E. Women Have Luncheon Woodburn A group of the Feder ated women of the Methodist Epis copal church motored to Salem Tuesday for 1 o'clock luncheon and a social meeting at the Old People's Home. Mrs. Mary Mohr of Chemawa led the devotional service, A brief business meeting was held with Mrs. Edna Lytle presiding. During the program hour vocal solos were given by Mrs. William Tschopp of Salem, accompanied by Mrs. Arthur Dennl son; Mrs. Gordon McOilchrist of Salem, accompanied by Mrs. Ted Gordon, and Mrs. Donald Orr of Woodburn, accompanied by Mrs. J. Mel v in Rlngo. A reading was given by Miss Constance Smart and Mrs. P. M. Hammond gave a very inter esting talk on missionary work. Mrs. Benjamin Blatchford, presi dent of the board of trustees of the home, called on several, of the in mates who responded with readings and vocal solo. Mrs. Charles Lytic of Salem assisted in arranging the program. A social hour followed the meet ing and the visitors were taken on a tour through the home. This was the last social meeting of the federation until August. A business meeting wlL be held the first Tuesday in June for election of officers. Friday night at 7.50 o'clock the Fast Matrons assocletion, O.E.S., will meet for dinner at Godfrey. Sterling Chapter Feted by Maids Mrs. Willma Wright and Miss Dorothy Holmes were hostesses Monday evening for Sterling chap ter of W.W.G. of the Calvary Bap tist church. Following a dessert luncheon the regular business meeting and pro gram was held. Miss Loree Barham reported on missions and Miss vei ns Alexander had -the program for the evening. Janet Wentworth To Wed Soon One of the most thrilling bite of romantic news of the season was announced yesterday in Portland by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd J. Went worth when they told friends in formally of the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Janet Suart Went worth, to Philip Church Smith. Mr. Smith is the son of Mrs. Grace Church Smith of Portland. The wedding, to be attended only by members of the two families, will be held at noon on Thursday, June 4, at the Church of Our Fath er (Unitarian), with Dr. W. G. Eliot, Jr., reading the service. The wed ding party and guests will go to the home of the bride's parents, 2430 Northeast Hancock street, for luncheon following the marriage. Miss wentworth, who did her preparatory work at St. Helen's hall in Portland. Is a graduate 01 Radcliffe college. She is an active Junior leaguer and for several years has been society editor 01 tne Portland News-Telegram. Mr. smith is a graduate of the New Mexican Military institute and the Univer sity of Oregon, where he affiliated with the Chi Psl fraternity, ac also attended the army flying school in San Antonio, Tex. The couple plan to be at home on Westover terrace after June SO. They are both well known In Salem. Miss Dunivan Guest of Honor Silverton For the pleasure of Miss Janice Dunivan, bride -elect of Marshall Powell of Salem, Mrs. Lee Haskins was hostess Wednesday evening at her home In South First street. A 6 o'clock dinner was served with six guests present and a surprise spice shower for the popular dr re elect was cleverly planned later with more than 20 additional guesu present. A fake telegram was hand ed the honor guest telling her where she would find her gifts that were in various places about the home. Miss Dunivan's marriage is an nounced for May 30. Dallas Club to Give Gay Dance Dallas The annual dance of th? Woman's club will be held on May 29 in the armory. A. entertained with a tea Wed nesday afternoon In Chresto Cot tage, honoring Miss Kuull Emato, exchange student at Willamette University from the University of Hawaii. The Englcwood Parent-Teacher association will meet at the school Friday evening at 8 o'clock for the annual May festival.
