Hostesses were Miss Kathryn Bowe and Miss Peggy Fronk who entertained In compli ment to Mrs. Harold Domogal'a Several tables of bridge were in play with prizes going to Mrs. Ar thur Knox, Miss Theo Beck and Miss Patricia Ritchie. At the tea hour the table was covered with a lace cloth and cen tered with a large bowl of Talisman roses on a mirror. Mrs. Carrie Chase cut Ices and Mrs. W. O. Fisher poured. Assisting In serving were Miss Theo Beck and Miss Lucille Bushnell. The guest list included Mrs. Do mogalla, Mrs. Margarlte Thiel, Mrs. Walter Bosebraugh, Mrs. W. Dr. Pearce Named Convention Delegate Salem Zontlans met at the Mar lon hotel Thursday noon foi lunch eon. The tables were attractive with large bowls of summer low ers and pastel tapers. Dr Helen Pearce was named as a delegate from the local club to the Inter national convention to be held In Riverside. Calif., in July. Members will meet again for luncheon at the Marlon June 27. MARTHA FLOER HRUBETZ who Is being sponsored by Marion Post auxiliary, No. 661, V. F. W., to represent Salem as a princess at the organizations convention in New port July 6 to 0. Mrs. Hrubetz is a daughter of a charter member of the capital city post. Woman's Club Has Last Meeting Hubbard The last meeting of the year of the Hubbard Woman's club was held In the evening with the husbands of the cluo members as guests at the home of Mrs. E. p. Rich, with Mrs. E. Chausee and Mrs. Hugh Wells as social hostesses. Out. of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Murphy of Foreft Grove, and Mrs. 8. L. Johnson of Salem. The party was Informal and end ed with old fashioned games under the direction of the president. Mrs. Ida Garland, assisted by the presi dent-elect, Mrs. Rich. Refreshments were served late in the evening. This meeting concluded the presi dency of Mrs. Garland and Mrs. Rich takes office as president. Mrs. Garland as junior past president will be in charge of the mid-summer family picnic which will be held In August. Debs Complimented At Luncheon Miss Mary Eyre presided at a smartly arranged luncheon this aft ernoon In her home honoring Miss Charlotte Eyre and her houreguest. Miss Lorraine Lzicar of Ontario Attractive bouquets of summer flowers In bright hues were used about the guest rooms and on the table. Pinal Meeting For Chapter G At the final dessert luncheon ol the season for Chapter G, PJS.O. Sisterhood, held Thursday it the home of Mrs. A. T. Woolpert, re ports on the convention were given by Mrs. F. J. Tooze. Covers at luncheon were placed for 20 and the hostess was assisted by Mrs. Silas Gaiser and Mrs. F. D. Voight. About 50 were present for the meeting. New members Include George Thomas, Wayne Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Gearhart. Mr. and Mrs. Fellers, Miss Betty Crauey and Miss Frances Grote. As a special feature of the eve ning Robert Boardman spoke on the "Making of a Child's Book" and showed interesting sketches which he plans to use in a book he is pre paring for children between the years of 6 and 8. The next meeting of the group will be held in Sllverton park the third Thursday In July. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Ryan enter tained Wednseday night at bridge at their home In North 17th street. Fret- well of Woodburn, and George Weis. ner of Sllverton were quietly mar ried Wednesday at Longview, Wash. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Gibbets of the Longview Com munity church and the witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thumberg of Woodbum, who accompanied the young couple to Longview. The bride is a graduate of Wood burn high school class of 1035 and the groom is engaged in the radio business at Sllverton. After a short trip to the coast Mr. and Mrs. Weis ner will be at home in Sllverton. They expect to make an extended trip through California shortly and will visit the San Diego exposition. ... Miss Elliott was one of the high school faculty in Hubbard for the past three years, coming to Hubbard from Perrydale high school at the same time Mr. Silke came from there as superintendent of the Hubbard schools. The North Salem W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. Lena Scharff Tuesday af ternoon for dessert luncheon. Eleven new members were honor guests. There were 30 In attendance. Dempsey were hostesses Satur day evening at the letter's home at a miscellaneous shower honoring Mrs. Dean Allen (Edna Middleton), a recent bride. Mr. and Mrs. Allen, both of whom were reared in this community, are graduates of the local high school and popular in so cial activities. The evening was spent informal ly. Preceding the opening of the many gifts by the bride, Elizabeth Rowell sang two solos accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Dempsey. S. Coomler, of North Howell. The bride wore a floor length gown of soft pink moulln de sole modeled on princess lines, with medium high neck and puffed sleeves. She carried a sheaf bouquet of calla lilies. Her only attendant was Catherine Tomlson of Silver- ton, who wore a pale green flat crepe frock. Serving as best man was Ovid Coomler of Salem, broth er ot the groom. The ceremony was performed before an improvised altar of roses arranged about the fireplace.
