END TERMS WORK Grand Island A mixed program In the forenoon, a basket dinner at noon and two ball games in the afternoon were features of the eloping of the Orand Island school celebration Tuesday. More than JOO people attended S. S. Duncan of McMinnville, county superin tendent of schools, was a guest. A friendship quilt with 48 namef, all the students who have attended the school during the last two years, and made by the Grand Island Mothers' circles, was presented to iMcs. About 45 people attended. AURORA SCHOOL TO ; SEE NEW TEAGHERS Aurora At a recent meeting of the local school board new teach ers were elected to serve next year. ' Pruf. E. E. Morrison, principal arid teacher of seventh and eighth grades, will return and the follow ing teachers were elected: Miss Ha Trader, fifth and sixth gradee; Miss Mabel Yost, third and fourth, and Miss Rae Davis, first and sec ond. This year has been a successful school year and the teachers who are leaving will be missed by pu pils and parents alike, but for personal reasons they are not coming back. M. degree upon an other candidate, the grand officer gave a short talk on "Capitular Masonry" and complimented the officers and members upon their work. He also announced that F. E. Butt, high priest of Independence chapter, had been appointed by hlra as a district deputy to the grand high priest. Following the regular order of closing, refreshments were served in the dining hall. It was announced during the re freshment hour that the M. M. de gree would be conferred upon the two candidates at a 6peclal meet ing called for Tuesday night. Miss Lou Ann Chase was discussion group leader for the event, which was also the last meeting of the year. The teachers made plans for a strawberry and Ice cream social to be held during the noon hour on the last day ot school, June 6, with the wives ot faculty members In charge. The program presented Tuesday night preceding the discussion In cluded xylophone solo, Norman Jen sen, accompanied at the piano by Ralph Langley; piano solo. Miss Violet Herlgstad; reading, Weston Smith; guitar and mandolins trio, Harbo Thompson, Leonard Pennell, and Wllber Price.
