STATE MEETING OF CASEYS HAS MUCH INTEREST S-'olimi'.y At the regular meet ing ef the Knights of Columb'us at Sublimity Tuesday evening, the lodge voted and elected to member ship six near members who will be initiated in a Joint class at Sa lem next Sunday. It Is expected that a large delegation of the K. of C s and then- families will be in Salem to take In the degree work. This Is the annual Joint initia tion ar.d always takes place the day preceding the annual state conven tion of the order In Oregon, which is being held in Salem this year. Candidates from Salem, Albany, St. Paul. Mt. Ansel and Sublimity will be in the class. The degree work will be In charge of the supreme director. Frank J. Lonergan ol Portland, assisted by an Albany de gree team. The initiatory work will tegm promptly at 1 o'clock. All three de grees wtil be exemplified In the af ternoon. Following the degree work a banquet will be given at the Marlon hotel. Many members of this order of Stayton and Sublimity are planning on spending the day in Salem. On Monday following, the regular an nual slate convention wiil convene at the M'-Cornack hail, presided over by the state deputy, C. P. A, Lcnergan. Following the conven tion in the evening win be a grand ball at the St. Joseph's hall to whyh e"er? one is invited. Mill City Masons Taking Vacation Mill City-The Masonic lodge No. ISO A. P. A- A. M. met Monday evening with T. R. Oiln, master, presiding. This was the last meeting night until alter the summer vaca tion Is over. At the conclusion of the business meeting an Informal evening was spent. Refreshments were served. DEAF TO STAGE CLOSING AFFAIR Closing exercises for the Oregon state school for the deaf will be held in the school auditorium Monday evening, June 2, at 8 ociock. The twelve students In the graduating class are Relnard Akesson, Margar et Cupper, Alphia Fleenor, Eugene Rankin, Rowena Smith, Aiberta Weiman, Herman Brekke, Paul Fest, Francis Grote.
