Burl Pem berton which will be solemnized at 4 o'clock in the afternoon of Sun day, June 16, at the home of the bride-elect's parents, Mr, and Mrs. A. C. Bohrnstedt, in Aldcrbrook on the Jefferson highway. The single ring service will be read by the Rev. H. P. Pom be r ion of Seattle, Wash., former pastor of Leslie Methodist church of Salem, In the presence of 30 relatives and intimate friends of the bridal cou ple. The bride who will be given In marriage by her father, wiU wear a semi -formal afternoon gown of car nation pink chiffon and carry a shower bouquet of rosebuds and lil ies of the valley. Miss Elsie Tucker, the only bridal attendant, as maid of honor, will wear a powder blue georgette gown with a corsage of Cecil B runner roses and sweet peas. Paul Pem berton of Portland will act as best man. Preceding the service, Walter Kaufman, fraternity brother of Mr. Pemberton, will sing "Until." Mrs. Jessie P. Bush will play Mendels sohn's wedding march. A reception will follow the re . mony with Mrs. H. P. Pemberton, Miss Helen Pemberton, Miss Mary Klghtlinger and Miss Helen Mc pherson assisting Mrs. Bohrnstedt. Miss Ruth Hazelton will sing a group of solos. After the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Pemberton will leave for Seattle where they will sail Tuesday on the Dorothy Alexander for a cruise to Alaska. Mr. Pemberton will be superin tendent of schools at TwLsp, Wash- next year where the young coupla will reside. Miss Bohrnstedt is a graduate of Oregon Normal school at Monmouth v.-ith the class of 1028. She has taught at Long Creek, Ore., the past year. Mr. Pemberton. a graduate of Willamette University and a member of Kappa Gamma Rho fraternity, taught at Wilson Creek, Wash., following his gradu ation. Dorothy Pcarce Presents Pupils An interesting musicale was pre- sented by a group of piano pupils of Miss Dorothy Pearce Thursday evening at ff:15 o'clock at the Pearce home on North Winter street. Recital Program AtT.S. Roberts9 An Interesting recital program was given Thursday evening by the younger Dunning pupils of improved music study at the T. 8. Roberts studio on North Summer street. The program included piano colos, dou ble piano numbers, duets and trios. A demonstration of the fundamen tals of music including keyboard transposition, rhythm pictures, scale building, and major and minor tri ads, was given. Taking part were Doris Cramer, Ruth Jean Garnjobst, Dorothy Butte, Nellie Harrington, Margaret Ann Bligh, Ruth Johnson, Elizabeth Lewis, Betty Anunsen, Alan Siewert, Beth Slewert, Richard Paul Barton and Spencer Greaves. Mrs. Roberts is planning to pre sent her advanced students in re cital later this month. Mrs. T. S. Gor don Simpson or Albany at a wed ding service, lovely in its simplicity, which will be solemnized Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, at 560 Oxford street. The bride who will be given In marriage by her father, will wear a period gown of peach taffeta and carry a shower bouquet of butterfly roses and sweet peas. Misa Flora Brown, the maid of honor, will wear a gown of pale blue taffeta and carry an arm bou quet of rosebuds. Dow Simpson of Albany, brother of the bridegroom, will act as best man. Twenty-five relatives and friends of the bridal couple will be in at tendance at the service which will be read by Rev. Charles E. Ward, pastor of the First Congregational church. Mrs. Ward will play the wedding march and preceding . the service Miss Dorothy Brant and Lawrence Deacon, accompanied by Mrs. Ward, will sing "1 Love You Truly" as a duet. Eppley entertained members of the Priscilla club with a delightful afternoon Thursday in her home on South 19th street. The living rooms and dining room of the Eppley home were-attractive with baskets or spring flowers in a variety of shades. Shuttleworth of Burlingame, Calif., who is her guest for several days, Mrs. Thomas Fitapatrick en tertained earlier in the week with an attractive bridge luncheon in her country home on the Turner high way. An impromptu program of Instru mental and vocal music was en joyed in the early evening after which the bride elect was presented with many beautiful gifts, cleverly concealed in an "old well." Al Jones and Miss Mabel Creighton on the River road north of Salem, when Mrs. Janes' daughter, Miss Rosalie Jones, be came the bride of Jack Porter, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Porter of Med ford, Oregon. The service was read by Dr. W. C. Kantner in a bower of flowers un der the huge fir trees at the rear of the Jones' home. In the presence of one-hundred and fifty guest. An improvised altar was arranged of fern and masses of columbine In pastel shades . of Iavendar, maize, and rose. Floral ropes of pink and white roses and vine maple twisted together bordered the bridal path way from the house to the altar. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her brother. Creighton Jones, was charming in a wedding gown of ivory crepe made with un even hemline and a short tulle veil caught with clusters of orange blossoms, sne carried a nandker- chief which was carried by her grandmother. Mrs. Mary McCully Creighton nt her wedding, by her aunt, Mrs. w. H. Dancy, and by her mofcher, Mrs. W. Al Jones. Her bouquet was a shower of orchids lilies of the valley, sweet peas, and opneua roses. Miss Hester Davis, the only brid al attendant, wore an afternoon gown of rose chiffon and carried an arm bouquet of snapdragons and roses. Will Hcathman of Medford acted as best man. Austin of Wood burn told of a num ber of interesting relics of pioneer days which have been donated to her for a place in the pioneer me morial building which the Daugh ters will erect at Champoeg. A fea ture of the afternoon was the ora tion on ''The Constitution," given by Wilur Thiebault of Portland, Jef ferson high school student who won the Pacific northwest championship in the recent high school oratorical contest. The spade used for the impres sive ceremony was brought across the plains by a pioneer family and will be placed with other relics In the building. Hunt Club Plans Ride for Sunday Members of the Salem Hunt club have arranged a breakfast ride for Sunday morning at 6 o clock north of Salem on the Painters' woods road. Dr. Hill plans to take several pictures with his moving picture machine while on the trip.
