Langley, chairman of the state democratic central committee, told the United Press today that he would Issue a call for a state meet ing Tuesday. The meeting will be held August 4, according to the Langley proposal, and at that tune organization tor the Oregon cam paign In the general election cam paign will be perfected. A number of democrats met here last night, many ot whom felt that organization should be made at once. Longley did not attend the meeting but sent a letter in which he said he had no desire to - outline the campaign policies ot Alfred E. Smith, the democratic presidential nominee, until alter Governor emitn had officially accepted the nomin ation and submitted his own views in the acceptance speech. A factor behind the desire of Langley, a Smith supporter, to de lay an organisation meeting. Is said to be bis desire to have a majority of counties present for the meeting and that this was Impossible Imme diately because a number of county committees are a yet unorgan ized.
