You buy the best milk but . do you keep it cold enough always ' to check the growth of bacteria? , GENERAL QeLECTRIC Even the best milk has a bacterial content which will multiply with tlaxming rapidity if kept at a tem perature even two degrees above the danger point-- 90 degrees. For safety sake, all milk should be kept several degrees below 50. The average temperature of a General Electric Refrigerator under household condi tions is 42 degrees. This is one vital reason why every bomemaker should consider the need for scientifially correct rclngcratioa :: TlnMlioirloiiimaj be arranged, if CKER3Y SEASOII IS III SIXS AT LOCAL HOUSES The cherry season In this section may bo said to have officially made IU start today both In the black and Royal Annes with deliveries of both Bingt and Annes starting on a small scale. By Friday it is expected a lew cars of Blngs will roU out of here and by the middle of next week It Is likely that the Royal Anne deliveries will be on in lull swing. The Annes still are a little on the graen side In most cases, but a day or two of sunshine or a few more days of cloudy weather will bring them on In full swing, barring rains wnicn would prove disastrous, pedally to the Royal Annes. Worth Henry brought In some ripe Annes irom nis orchard today and no doubt they are snread around more or less In small ouan titles In a wen ripened condition, but tn the main the bulk of the crop will not do reaay until a little later. In a number of orchards nicking oi sings was proceeding today and some pretty good deliveries are ex pected by night. Roy Hurst stated that he expected this evening to re ceive a delivery of three tons from one orchard. "We are flirting with trouble on the Blngs," stated Hurst. Re showed where one. lug box delivered this morning had been picked over and out of It not much more than two good double bandf ulla of cherries fit for a commercial pack were taken out. . - 'If that proves to be a fair samnle of what wo can get, it will be almost prohibitive to handle them," he stated. The cherries showed a high percentage of cracks and the heavy damage done by recent rains was fully apparent In some orchards, however, the growers claim that the ) Ings are not cracked at all and that they will make very high class de liveries. All the packers are expecting to handle a few Blngs out of here. Lamberts will start about the middle of next week and some orchards a little later. Some of the outlying orchards may still be a little earlier, It being reported that McMinnvUle will be ready with the Lamberts very soon, while the Sheridan and ttllSlUt I .HUM 1, Portland ssetons may not coma on for two or three weeks yet.
