When asked where he and Ray had gone when they left Oregon for the east, Ray looked at Roy, and they debated in lowered tones. Then Roy turned and shook his head. "You see, we told the postal inspectors we would not say anything about that If they didn't want us to, and they've been awfully good to us. We won't say." Ray resented a dispatch quoting him as saying when asked what his 17 year old wife would do, that "oh, she's good looking. She'll get along." "She is a good girl," he said. "A really good girl.
