Several members were absent. The mayor will with hold his signature as long as pos sible to give time for the erection of the "stop" signs at intersecting strec'je. It is not considered Fafe for the measure to become effec tive until the pouts are all in place, several members pointing out that the resulting confusion might cause eerious accidents. The principal amendment fn the measure makes applicable all over the city the prohibition against turning care in the streets except at intersections. The original bill made this a requirement only in the fire limits and on the through streets. An effort was made to re move this provision entirely, but this failed. Penalties Increased.
