His hopes were not realized and his younger brother, Prince Pra ja Dhipok succeeds to the throne. A daughter was born yesterday to tho new queen. Rama VI who was 45 years old. recently underwent an operation for an abdominal abscess from which he did not recover. Prior to the operation lie had suffer ed from acute gastritis. Educated at Oxford, Rama on his marrkigo in 1922 to Princess'' Lakashmi Lavan, said he abjured polygamy and abolished the har em which hts father had main tained. In 1910 it was dscided that un til' King Rama had male issue the succession should bo through the queen mother's son. Last month Rama deposed his queen on the ground that she had not "carried out her duties to ward king and country in a sat isfactory matner." The daughter born yesterday to the king and the new queen, Chao Chom Suvadana, was the first child fo be born to a king of Siam for 32 years, the last being Prince Praja Dhipok, who now succeeds to tho throne. When King Rama last month raised Lady Suvadana to' the rank of royal consort in place of the childless queen Lajsumi, the fol lowing proclamation was issued: "The king has observed that the uew queen has served him with faithfulness and love, and It is fitting thereEoro that she should be raised to high estate in order to support the rank ot the child she will bear his majesty in the near future." A Sofia dispatch to La Liberie re ports a frontier incident on the uulgarlnn-jogo-Slav border in which two men, believed to be Jugo-Siave- and one Bulgarian soldier were killed. The dispatch says a party of rour armed men attempted to pene trateiBulgar territory between the villages ot Galabovitz and Gour goulimp. coming from Jueo-Slav territory. Margaret Jaeger, 12 year old girl who was Injured in an auto accident on the Wallace road Sat urday night, will probably be out ot the hospital within a week, It was reported this morning. She suffered concussion of the brain at the time ot the accident, and for several days her condition was considered serious.
