Dallas, Or., Oct. 23. At a pre
liminary hearing in justice court
bere today Raymond Reiner t, a
former school boy, who bad been
depended upon by the prosecution
to implicate Ted M acorn ber in the
robbery ot the E. E. Glover home
several weeks ago, failed to hold
to the story which authorities de
clare he told out of court. The
boy 'a former story, authorities
say, was to the effect that he and
Macomber together robbed the
Glover home. The youth sticking
to his Btory in the face of stiff
cross questioning, Macomber was
turned loose by'Judge Ed F. Cood.
Rolnert had been paroled from
the reform school to the Glovers,
who live west ot Dallas. The rob
bery, which took place when the
Glovers were away, amounted to
a small quantity of household
goods. It was said that Macomber
had been on the premises for some
time prior to tho robbery, chum
ming about with Relnhert.
Relnert and Macomber had
spent last night in jail together.
Relnert has been returned to
tho state boys' training school at
Salem.
