The scheduled ten-round main
event at the armory last night
woe stopped in the third round
when Ernie Woodward ot Port
land knocked out Joe Jewett or
Seattle. While the fight did la:
there waa plenty of hard hitting
witih both fightera mixing it heav
ily. After a series ot trading
blows, Woodward sunk one in'o
Jewett'a midriff as Jewett was
coming In and Jewett sank to the
floor for the full count. Up until
that time Jewett seemed to have
all the best ot it. He landed con
tinually on Woodward in tho first
round but the Portland fighter
came back strong iu the second
and did not stop until the third.
