A star of the by-gone years came
to hover over Pittsburgh in Its
hour of greatest darkness and by
Ita brilliance drew about It several
little planets which for a time had
been obscured by baseball's great
smoke. Kaln and fog were dis

For the Pirates of Pittsburgh to
day are champions of the world
once again after sixteen long years
and all of them are stars of mag

for the slayer of Madalynne Lati
mer, 19-year-old Milwaukee girl
and her fiance, James Sean, Ke
nosha, whose bodies were found ip
a field near Kenosha early yester
day was made, at midnight last
night when Milwaukee and Ke
nosba deputies took Howard J.
Pratt of Milwaukee Into custody.
The deputies said they thought
trait could throw some light on
the case.
Pratt was arrested as he entered
