E. Washburne, superintendent of

Mass., after reading "Evange
line," remarked that "It doesn't
seem possible a girl would walk

teachers and librarians and the
results of the study have been
made available by the American
Library association.

The county and the city jails
today have three new occupants
In the persons of George Green,
Orln Smith and B. Harris, who
were arrested In an automobile
on the Pacific highway late yes
terday by State Traffic Officer

on their car are said to have been

land. It Is believed that the three
men were about to stop In Salem
and attempt a series of burglar
ies for the reason that they were

separate cells In the city jail and
