Mr. and Mrs. Jack Olson spent Sunday in Portland. ihe annual Salem city tennis tournament will be staged next week, beginning on Saturday, Sept, 12, It was announced this morning by Ivan White, chairman of the committee of the Satem tennis as sociation which has charge of the tournament. The tournament will consist of men's singled, women's singles and men's doubles. A con solation men's singles tournament will also be held. Four cups, one for each series, will be awarded by the local tennis association. "Tho city tournament is usually held earlier In tho year," 'said Ivan White this morning, "but due to the fact that so many of those who would have entered were out of the city, we decided to postpone tho affair until later." Among those "who wilt enter, ac cording to White, are Stanley IS na me!, ranking player ot Willamette univeislty, and winner of the sin gles cup In the city tourney a year ago, Roy Ok er berg, University of Oregon player, who with Dr. Bales of Salem won the doubles cup last year. Hale Mickey, another Wil lamette man, and the entire Salem high school team, consisting of Francis Lutz, president of the ten nls assocltlon for this year, Jack Minto, John Creech and Ivan White.
