They will remain over the week end at tho Hofer summer home "Madi ore" at Agate Beach. ' House guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Hawkins on Tuesday anil Wednesday of this week were Mr. and Mre. II. R. Rogers of Spokane, Washington. They left Wednesday evening for California Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Harbison and family, and Mrs. Harbison's father, Dr. S. A. Bowman, re turned Tuesday evening from a two weeks' vacation at Neekowln. While there they had as their ruest an old family friend, Dr. K. S. Simpson of Pittsburgh. Penn sylvania. They also entertained a nephew of Mrs. Harbison. John Council of Santa Monica, Califor nia, and Al Black of Santa Monica Mr. and Mrs. Dan J. Fry, Sr., will return early next week from their summer home at Ncskowin where they Lave been spending ' several weeko During the past two weeks Miss Emma Roilge.'S has been the guest of Mrs. Ernest E. Smith and family on a motor trip to Mc Minnville, Pacific City and Nes towin. In the group also Is Mis. J. M. Honnold. Mrs. Randa McDonald and Mrs. W. J. Busick have returned to their homes after a week's stay at Ncskowin. Mies Iva Claire Love, Miss Ma rian and Mies Lucille Emmons motored to Monmouth yesterday. Mise Love appeared on the as sembly program at the stale nor mal school in a duet number with a Monmouth girl with whom she ad studied at the Cornish school rn Seattle. Mr. and Mia. B. 0. Shucking and Mrs. A. N. Gilbert returned recently from two interesting mo tor trips. They spent ten days in California and after a few days at home started north. On the second trip they drove to Glacier national park, through Montana and up to Calgary, Can ada. From Calgary they went to Bnnff and Lake Louise and re turned by way of Seattle. They spent two weeks In Canada. Among the vacationists return ing recently from Newport were Mrs. W. Roblson and daughter. Grace. They spent two weeks there. Miss Katnryn' Gunnell has re turned from a visit of ten days in Umatilla county. In Pendleton Miss Gunnell was the house guest of Major and Mrs. Lee Morehouse. During her vi6lt thero she took number of interesting stills of the work of a moving picture company which is filming a west ern picture along the Umatilla river at the present time. Pictures of their scenes, and of a number of their stars Including Hoot Gib son and Dustin Farnham are in cluded In Miss Gunnell's collec tion which she will have on dis play shortly. Her nephew Mcr lyn J. Gunnell, accompanied her. Ho will ride In the Pendleton Round up and Mies Gunnell will return to Pendleton at that time to take more pictures. Mrs. George has been working on her part In the Cecil Di Mille produc tion "Tbo Road to Yesterday," which will be released 6oon. Among the actors who have leads in this production are vera Kcyn- olds, Julia Faye and Joseph Schildkraut. Upon her return to Hollywood Mrs. George may again resume work In the moving pic ture colony. Mrs. F. L. Miller and two daughters, Minnie and Edna, have returned from Newport where they epent two weeks.
