Fistic managers and promoters today en tered upon the second round uf their heavyweight auction with Jck JJempsey end Hurry Wills on the block. Promoter Tex Rickard, with Gene Tunney of New York signed to a contract to tight Harry Wills next month, held one important telegram and was waiting or the vires to wing to him another. The Keeeage contained an urgent re quest from Dempsey to sign Willn for. a chumiponship battle as aoou as possible. He awaited another from Wills, touring "somewhere over there regarding the Tunney fight. Paddy Mullina, ' manager of Wills, today had two conferences on his schedule. After diecueefng with Promoter Floyd Fitzsimmons of Michigan City, Ind., the lot tor's proposal to stage a Wills- Denipsey fight next year, he re served decision until word 1b re ceived frorm Wills. Fltzeimmone, packing an agreement signed by Dempsey to box the negro, ar ranged for another conference to day. Mullina also booked himself for a session with Rickard at which they planned to tuke up both the Tunney and Dempsey fights. CHURCHILL SAYS USE OF NAME UNAUTHORIZED Salesmen of certain cyclopedias that are being cold about the state have no authority to use the name of J. A. Churchill, state superin tendent of schools, as having in dorsed the book, Mr. Churchill said yesterday. Reports reaching.
