Robber Uses Woman
As Human Shield In
Battle With Police
New York, Aug. 7. (A. P.)
A mother ot four children used as
a human shield by a robber flee
ing In a hall of police bullets, is
dead, and a detective dying, as a
result of a spectacular gun fight
under the Pennsylvania railroad
terminal.
Two youthful gangsters were
captured, police saving them from
crowd or louu persons who
threatened lynching. Two others
escaped. ,

berry and a patrolman in a police
car last night attempted to stop
the autoomblle In which the four
suspects wero riding. The gang:
opened fire, Hcnneberry fell, a
bullet severing an artery near the
heart. i
The men scattered as other po
lice approached. Edward Hart, i
18, the youngest, grabbed Mrs
