NEARLY MILLION The stuto building program for the two yeuru, lvzb and Hflst), will Involve a total expenditure of $915,738, according to a Btfi ment by Sam A. Kozer, secretary of Btate. The biggest projects, which are Bow in progress of construction, are an addition to the Eastern Oregon hospital for the Insane at Pendleton, whk-b will cost $225, 000, and the new cottage system training school for boys at Wood burn, which will cost about $243. 000. A new dormitory at the state Institution for the feeble-minded will cost $50,000, which Is $26, 460 leBs than the legislature ap propriated for the purpose. For u new pavilion at the state tubercu losis hospital the legislature ap propriated $53,501, while the con tract entered Into by the board calls for $30,000. A cottage will be erected for the W. C. T. U. chil dren's home near Corvallle, and the board of control and the trus tees of the home have let a con tract at $15,000. Appropriations were made by the legislature and plane are being prepared by the board of normal school regents for a new normal school at Ashland, to cost $176, 000, and a training school build ing at Independence for the Mon mouth normal school, to cost $125,000. Contracts for the former will be let In about CO days and the latter In about 30 days. Plans are being prepared for tho con struction of a school building for the children's farm home of the W. C. T. U. near CorvalHs, for which the legislature opproprlatcd $35,000, the contract to -be let. within 60 day, nnd for nn Isola tion hospital for the Louise Home for girls noar Portland, to cost $17,600.
