I FOR ALL STATES Governor Tierce hrw announced his position on levying of inherit ance and Income taxes by the fed oral government and also by state governments. This he did In an Interview on the plan proposed by the Georgia country bank era association. Governor Pierce said: "I believe In a strong Inherit ance tax. It ought to be uniform every state and ought to be national law, collected by govern ment machinery, and should be ap portioned, part to the government and part to the state. I believe the name with respect to the Income tar." The resolution adopted by the Georgia country bankers' associa tion, which was submitted to Gov ernor Pierce for his opinion de clared that the inheritance tax provision of the federal tax meas ure should be replaced. The reso lution follows: Whereas, we affirm our confi dence In the wisdom of the found era of our government In recom mending: a separation of tax aource as between federal and state Juris diction which has had the unani mous indorsement of our states men and the approval of custom from the beginning of government to the present time.
