Rev. R. L. Putnam of the Court street Chris tian church, performed the cere mony, with Rev. Fred Taylor, of the First church, assisting. The church was beautiful. The chancel, the pillars and the or gan in the background, were al most completely hidden with palms, feme and countless bas kets filled with flowers of pink and white. Smllax was entwined through the organ pipes, seven tall baskets filled with pink glad ioli and pink snap dragons with Shasta daisies and baby breath were placed In a semi-circle in the background. Long baskets of Shasta daisies, white carnations and Dorothy Perkins roses were lovely over the archways and the pillars were almost completely hidden with pink snapdragons and white carnations. Tall pink candles were used in silver can delabra. Half hidden In the greenery and flowers were two tiny cupids, little Teona and Wi nona Putnam, who stood poised with silver bowe and arrows dur ing the ceremony. Prof. Frank E. Churchill pre sided at the organ. Mrs. W. Carl ton Smith Bang 'Sweet and Holy. The wedding march from Lohen grin with four violins accom panying was played as the bridal party entered. The violinists were Miss Mildred Scott of Monmouth. Harold Rupert, Donald Sieg mund and Miss Margaret Egge. As a violin solo Miss Scott played Dvorak's "Song my Mother Taught Me." Mendelssohn's wed ding march wae played for the recessional. The bride was a picture of loveliness in a gown of satin back ed crepe with a full length train and veil. It was made with panel effect with old point lace which has been in the family for more than four generations. It was embroidered with pearls. Her only ornament was a heavy string of pearls, the gift of the groom. Her shower bouquet was ot Ophe lia roses and orchids. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Rex. A. Turner. Mrs. Rex. A. Turner was ma tron of honor. She wore an at tractive frock of delicate orange satin backed crepe and a picture hat. She carried an arm bouquet of old fashioned flowers. Two bridesmaid, Mrs. George Warner of San Francisco, and Mrs, Charles Niemcyer of Seattle, wore frocks of honey-dew geor gette with hats to match. Two of the bridesmaids, Mrs. Clare Vih bert and Mrs. Ivan Martin were lovely in dainty green frocks, They wore large green flowered hats. All carried arm bouquets. The tiny flower girl, Barbara Bonn ell of Independence, and the ring hearer, Patricia Murray of Eugene, wore little befrilled frocks of pink. The bride's train was carried bv two diminutive pages, Adair Birtohet and Madeline Knowles, each just thirty six Inches high. They wore little white satin cos tumes with tiny white satin cape slung from their shoulders. The capes were line dwith green. David R. Moses of - Gervais, ,:as hie brother's host man. The ushers were Dr. Chester Downs, Clare Vfhhert, Jack Vincent, Ken ueth Cockerline ot-Eugene. More than four hundred peo ple attended the wedding and the reception at the 'Turner home which followed. A color plan of pink and blue was carried out iu the -living rooms of the Turner home on north Cap! tol street. Baskets of ocean spray, blue del phinium and pink roses filled ev ery available nook and corner. Assisting about the rooms were Mrs; Emma Murphy Brown, Mrs. B. J.' Miles and Mrs. F. A. Ba ker. Presiding at the urns and cut ting ices during the evening were Mrs, A, M. Smith, Mr. E. M. LaFore, Mrs. Ira Foil is, Mrs. Henry Worth, Mrs. C. P. Bishop, Mrs. J. A. Ackerman and Mrs. F. E. Shafer. Mrs. Floyd Utter and Mies Helen Ramsden presided at the punch bowl. Tiny monogram med boxes filled with bride's cake were given to the guests. After the reception Mr. and Mrs. Moses left for Alaska where they will remain indefinitely. The bride's going away costume was rosewood ensemLV with small hat to match. m The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Green are regretting their departure this week from Salem. Mr. Green's work will take him to Washington, D. C for a year or more and during that time Mrs. Green and the chit dren will make their home in Seaside, with the hope that lat er Mr. Green will be transferred to the coast. However they will remain at Seaside until Mr. Green is definitely located when they will join biro. A number of fare well affairs were given for them recently. ; The formal opening of the new headquarters of the Oregon Fed era t ion of Women's clubs at Glad stone Chautauqua park will take place Saturday, July 11. From 3 until 5 open house will be ob served. Mrs. Saidie Orr-Dunbar, president of the federation; Mrs. Rosina Fouts Evans of Oregon City, chairman ot the Chautau qua com m i tee ; M ra. Lean Martin, Mrs. G. J. Frauket, and other members of the state board, will receive the guests aud tea will be served, this feature being In charge of department and di vision heads and members of the Oregou City Woman's club. From 5 until 6 p. m. the state federation will be in charge of the symposium hour at which time delegates to the state conven tion at Marshfieid will report. At 6 o'clock a basket supper wilt be served to which all club women and "club husbands" are Invited The new headquarters will be the meeting place for club wo men from all sections of the country and each afternoon dur ing the Chautauqua assembly tea win tie served ay one or more clubs of the federation. Mrs. Rhoda B, Hayes, president of the Portland Federation of Women's Organizations, being In charge of this feature. Oregon Journal. Dr. and Mrs. L. O. Clement who have been a broa d for t h ree months are expected home next Sunday. For six weeks Dr. and Mrs. Clement were in Vienna where the doctor was taking spe cial work. They have heen visit ing also in Holland,4 France, Switzerland and England. Resinol Wedding At Marshall Home The home of Mr, and Mrs. S. R. Marshall near Gervaia was the scene of a beautiful wedding yesterday when their daughter, Miss Kathcrine Marshall, became the bride of John Jeiderks. The ceremony took place at four o'clock In the afternoon under neath an archway of roses and fern erected In the living room of the Marshall home. Rev. Mat thews of the Gervais Presbyterian church officiated. The living rooms were attract ively decked in pink and white roses and sweet peas and the same color plan was followed through out. The bride was lovely in a gown of white crepe backed satin. It was simply aud most effectively made with point lace. Her veil was full length and fastened with a bandeau ot lace. Her shower bouquet was of roses and sweet peas. Mr. Marshall gave W.a daughter m marriage. The only attendant was the bride's matron, ot honorf her sis ter, Mrs. Donald Mars. She wore an attractive frock ot pink geor gette made with lace. Before the ceremony Mies Alta Kirshner sang "Oh Promise me. Mrs. Robert Harper sang "Be cause X Love You Truly," and Mies lone Luehrs, ft Xi Beta so rority sister of the bride, played the wedding march from the "Midsummer Night1 Dream." A reception followed the cere mony. Mare than sixty friends and relatives of the young couple were present. The bridal bouquet was caught by Miss Catherine Jones, also a sorority eister of the bride. The bride's going away cos tume was a brown crepe ensemble with a small hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. Jeiderks will spend sev eral weeks a one of the Oregon beaches and will thou return to Salem, where Mr. Jeiderks Is con nected with the insurance bust ness, to mike their borne. Mrs. Jeiderks ie well known both In Salem and in Corval.'is where she was in college for lour years. She was graduated from Salem hieh school in 1920 and from O. A. C. with th class of '24. She is a member ot Xi Beta sorority and of Scribes, honor ary writers' society. She was prominent on. the campus during her college days. Mr. and Mrs, D. H. Upjohn and lamuy nave returned from out i Jig of two weeks spent at Newport. Mr. and Mrs. K.'W. Harritt and family left today for British Co liimbia. & The many Salem friends of Franklin B. Launer will be inter eeted in hearing that in a music al contest conducted in Chicago recently by Percy Grainger, the famous composer, Mr. Launer was the winner. Musicians from all parts of the world were entered in the contest. Mr. Launer return ed recently from a year's study abroad. He will remain in Chica go until the end of July when he will coitte to Oregon to visit his parents. He has not yet decided: whether be will accept a position that has been offered him in the east or whether he will remain in the west, Miss Grace Taylor was eleccl presdent of the Salem branch of the Oregon state graduate nurses' association at a meeting held in the Gray Belle on Thursday af ternoon. Miss Neil Bennie-on was hostess. Other officers chosen were Miss Veda Eriekson, secre tary, and Miss Stewart, treasurer. During the program hour Dr. Lee Wood gave a talk oh 'Squint.' Luncheon followed. The birthday anniversary of Mrs. D. B. Socolofsky was the occasion of a delightful affair on Friday when her daughter, Mies Salome Socolofeky, entertained at luncheon at the Gray Belle ifl her honor. Additional guests were Mrs. B. J. Roth, Mrs. S. Vail, Mrs. Ern est Shanks, Mrs. Jessie Martin, Miss Christine Halvorsen and Mies Alice Roth. Mr, and Mrs, J. M. Clifford spent the week end at Waldport on the coast.
