The locals are heading the league with six wins and no defeats and are a slight favorite to win over the paperinakcrs. The Went Linn team lias been going good and are coming to Salem with the express purpose of knock ing the league leaders off. West Lmii ana Hfllsboro arc tied fur second place with fu wins and three losses. The Sen tors won the first meeting be tween the two teams played the West Linn diamond by only one point. The Senators rallied tho later Innings and took thi game. Bittles or Stone will probably start on tho mound for the vlsl- tors. Uittles is a former Chemuwa Indian school p.thleto and Is well known hero by all sport fans. T Senators know Ditties pitchi and will more than likely hit his offerings fieely. Ditties is a good pitcher with lots of stuff, ho ever, and might surprise tho lo cals. G. sneaked under the wlro la their baseball game with the Grotto last night and snatched a victory from the fire by a score of 7 to 6, on tho Oxford park diamond. It was ono ot the best played games yet seen In the twilight league series. Tho lead changed hands several times and It was not until tho last out that the scoro was final. In the first Inning tho Grotto nine scored two runs and another In the third. Tho soldiers out one across in the second and four In the third. This left tho score five to three In favor of tho sol diers but they were unable to hold that lead for long. Kelly, hit the ball over the fenco for the soldiers.
