Mrs. Flegel Honored At Bridge Tea Mrs. Earl Flegel of Honolulu, who has been spending eeveral months with Salem relatives and friends, was the Inspiration of one of the most attractive affairs of the entire season today when Mrs. Milton Meyers entertained in her honor at a luncheon at the tirey Belle, followed by an after noon of bridge in the Meyers home on Court street. A number of Mrs. Flegel's most intimate friends were bidden to the affair. Pink peonies, pink and salmon snapdragons and blue del phinium were arranged In art baskets about the Chinese room at the drey Belle. Flowers of the same variety wore used In pro fusion in the living rooms of the Meyers home. Captain Flegel will land In Ran Francisco tomorrow from Honolulu where he has been sta tioned and will arrive in Salem on Wednesday to join Mrs. Fleg.-l and their small win. A furlough of several months will be spent with relatives in Oregon. The Junior Standard Bearers of the First Methodist church will give an entertainment In the church tonight for the benefit of the missionary fund which will consist of two plays, "In the Air" and "Pyari's Rescue." OREGON Plans For "Mikado" Complete Rehearsals for "The Mikado" which will bo given in the high assembly hall Friday evening, have been continuing with en thusiasm during the past week. Indications assure that this year's production by the music department of the Salem high school will far surpass anything heretofore attempted. It will be recalled that "Pinafore" las sea son drew a crowded house and won the approval of an exacting audience. Costumes for the principals have been ordered from Seattle and these will arrive in time- for the dress rehearsal on Thursday evening of this week. The cos tuming for the chorus Is In the hands of Mies Genevieve Camp bell who Is engaged In looking after the wardrobes. Mra.i Elva Franklin has been placed In charge of the stage decorations. Under her guidance the scenes will bo typically Japanese In ef fect and wholly artistic. Miss Elizabeth Hogg will act as facul ty manager. She will have charge of the reserved 6eat sale which opens early in the week. Homer Richards, financial manager, is looking after the business part of the opera. The art department, under the direction of Miss Hnzel Paden Is contributing splendid offerings In posters and giving other valuable assistance In the advertising. Only one public performance of "The Mikado" will be givent June 5 at the high school assem bly ball. Popular young soloists who will be heard are, Helen Marcus, Esther Burch, Thelma Davis.
