Gervais un ion higli school won the cham pionship, of Marion county by de feating Stayton high In baseball Saturday afternoon. The game was played at Silverton. Gervais will receive the silver cup offered by the Marlon coun ty principals association. The final count In Saturday's game was 9 to 2. The Uervate players garnered 10 hits during the course of the tilt, Stayton lining out exactly half that num her. Four errors were called up against Gervais as against 6 for Stayton. Batteries were as fol lows: Gervais, Kuhn and Fersch weiler; Stayton, Pfund and Speer. Mt. Angel, May 25. The Ma rion county grade school baseball championship was won by the Mt. Angel nine in the last game of the county series played on the Silver Falls field at Silverton on Saturday when Mt. Angel won from Sublimity by a 10 to 6 score. Anton Eugelbart, the small Mt. Angel pitcher struck out eleven men. He also made four of the ten runs for the ML Angel team. Sublimity used two pitch ers. Together they struck out six men. Zachary of Willamette uni versity umpired. The Mt. It would be difficult to single out anyone of the actors as out standing in ability. All parts were well chosen and well carried out, However, special mention should be given to Itonald Hubbs, Mary Egan and Mehama McKee, who had the most difficult roles. The relay leara brought home the silver cup for making the mile in 1 minute, 36 seconds, an average of 24 seconds per man. The team was composed of G. Oddie, h. Kireher, B. Kil- kerson and D.
