It U ex pected that practically every com munity organization in Polk coun ty will be represented at meet ing to be held in the circuit court room in Dallas at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday night, April IE, when the organisation of a permanent county committee will be attempt ed, according to W. W, tlarcombe, president ot the Dallas chamber of commerce. Through sucm permanent committee it Is hoped to decide up on a unitied county road program and other projects In which all sections will work together, rather than at variance as frequently is the case at present. The purposes of thla meeting has been placed before practical ly all of the county organizations by speakers ol the Dallas chamber or by letter, and it has been re ceived with favor. Ex-Commissioner Harlow ot Lane county will be present to tell of the organization ot a county committee there. It Is suggested that It an organization can be ef fected that It adopt by-laws, elect officers and directors and appoln committees to handle questions o: roads, agriculture, commerce, aui mal husbandry, public welfare an other Interests as they may de velop. The road commute, which w!i: handle matters ot widest concern will probably arrange to confei with Roadmaster Culver ot Marlon county and other authorities on county road systems. It will also work with the Folk county couri In an effort to develop a road building program for the countv. PRUNE GROWERS ARE TO MEET AT DALLAS Dallas, Or., April 10. The an nual meeting ot the Polk County Co-operative Prune Growers has been called tor Monday at 1:30 P m. at Woodman hall, according to announcement today by Henry Voth, chairman of the board ot di rectors and manager of the local plant. The growers will elect a new board ot directors and take up other business ot the associa tion. The general meeting of the af filiated growers units of the prune exchange will be held in Portland on Monday, April 10. The present outlook ot the prune market and reports from the sales agency are encouraging to members ot the growers' pool. PROPERTY CHANGES HANDS Dallas. Or., April 10.
