The Sllverton Farent Teachera' circle is making exten sive preparation tor the couaty conveutlon of the parent-teachers' association which will meet at Sll verton on April . The Silverton circle is particularly deal rout ol making this an interesting meet ing an it is the first of its kind to be held outside of Saleui. A fine program has been pre pared by the program committee of which Mrs. Helen Wrightmao of Silverton is chairman. She is agisted by Mrs, jonu liulihlitt of Sllverton and Mrs. Hode Abbott of Sulem. The program will be given at the Kiikdo Field auditorium and the Silverton usaoeiatlun ex tend a cor. Hal invitation to all who arc interested In the work of the parcnt-tvflther's association. Mrs. Wright man, chairman of the program committee, has re ceived word that Mrs. George Per kins, state president, of Portland and other state officers will be present at tho meeting. Mrs. Perkins will preside at the round table discussion at noon. The sub ject to be dismissed wilt be "Parent-Teacher's Problems." Airs. Cecil Wenderoth of Salem Is president of the county association. The 17th annual convention of district No. 4 of the Hehekah lodge wilt be held at Silverton on March 21. The local lodge Is mak liifi interesting plans for the af fair. It was at first planned to bold the convention in April but the state president, Mrs. Mury 1) Mohs of Lake view, Oregon, wrote that she would pay her visit to Sllverton on March 21 and doped tho convention would be at this time. Twelve lodges of the district will be represented at the conven tion. Two Bcsioiift will be held, ono In the afternoon at the Odd Fellows hall and one in the even ing at the Eugi-no Field auditor ium. Chester Maulding Is another Sllverton boy who has found em ployment at Toledo. A great num ber of Silverton boys are employed at the lumber mills and camps at Toledo. Silverton farmers are buoy sow ing grain and clover. Many re port that their grain withstood the bard frost in the early part of the winter while others say they find they have to re-6ow nearly all thetr grain. - C. 0. Coffe Injured his hand while cranking a car Wednesday. Mr. Coffee cut his hand on the license plato necessitating the tak ing of three stitches. Edwin Hatteberg of Pratum has been working at the home of his rather, O. Hatteberg of Paradise, duriug the past few days. Trinity Ladies' Aid society was entertained t Trinity social room Wednesday by Mrs. U, Tingslad and Mrs. W. K. Dahl. At the business meting delegates were elected to represent the society at tho woman federation meeting to be held in conjunction with the Lutheran circuit meeting which will be held at St. John's church the latter part of this month. This meeting comprises the different Lutheran churches of Oregon and part of Washing ton. The delegates elected at Trinity Aid society were Mrs. Al bert Sathcr and Mrs. Levi (.ioplc rud. They reported that their mother, who has been ill for t number of months, as being some what improved. Their sister, Al mo, who has been 111 for two years Is Improving, but slowly. The nam, ol ths Dallas Commercial club was changed to the Dallas Chamber ot Commerce at the reg ular monthly meeting held last night at the club rooms. The change waa made without opposi tion on motion ot Eugene Ilayter. Partial reports from the mem bership drivo commltteea indicat ed that the support ot the club would exceed that ol the previous year. Only a tew membera have dropped their memberbhlp and a number ot new ones have been added. Practically a full report was ready, with the exception of the Industrial district, where the canvass has not been completed. ML ANGEL TCSSEHS TO PLAY SEATTLE COLLEGE Mt. Anrcul College, March 6. Mt. Angel college's undefeated basketball team will take a trip to Seattle In order to play return games with the College of Puget Sound and Seattle college. Re plies to a questionnaire sent out by the Valsetz people have come f roi i Dallas, Monmouth and Am ity, reports Mr. Babb, and all are favorable to the formation of such a league. Independence has not yet re plied to Mr. Babb's letter, but as a strong team Is usually formed there, it is expected that this town will fall in line.
