the local floor last night by a score
of 22 to 6.
In tbe fir3t quarter Salem took
the k-ad and was never beaded.
At the end ot tbe quarter the ecuro
stood 6 to 3 and ut the end of the
half tlio Bcore stood 14 to 6. In
the luat halt tho visitors failed tu
score a point although they bad
several free shots. Several of the
Mt. Angel shots went in and out
again but they did not show any
team work, taking most of tbeii
shots from long distances. Salem
missed several cucn shots under
the basket.
The game was rough with ten
personals called on the Salem side
and nine on tbe Mt, Angel five,
The visitors converted two fuuls
out of twelve shots and the locals
marked up two points out of
eleven free throws. In tbe last
quarter Huntington Bent In
whole new team with the excep
tion of John Drager, center for the
locals.
Ellis was high point man for the
game with nine markers to hie
credit while Hecnan and Duffy
tied for second place honors on the
Salem side. Myers was high point
man for the visitors with old field
goal and two free throws to his
credit. The locals have no more
games scheduled until the state
tournament. They will rent until
that time unless they are able to
get a good team for some date be
twecn then. It was thought that
Salem '."as to have played the Mt
Angel first iaara but they were
unable to come as they had a game
with a team from Woodburn. The
annual leap night was observed

The seepage which began thru

tal of the tunnel February 14, at

This phenomena has been with
out detriment to workens build
ing tbe six mile tunnel through
the heart of th Rocky mountains

tunnel was at first believed by
workmen to hare been caused by
striking an underground reser
voir. Since February 19 officials
employed scientific analysis with

Crater lake lies In a region
covered with snow from 30 to 40
feet deep, and steps must be tak
en, according to officials to stop
