William McUllchrlst, Jr. Eight tables of players were eated about the living rooms of the McGilchrlet home and at the close of the evening a compari son of scores showed that Mrs David Wright and George Duns ford had won high honors. Gold, green affel white, the-) Daughters of the Nile colors, were used throughout the decorative lan and as the color note in the refreshments. Lovely daffodile were combined with spirea and lern In the living and dining rooms. An additional dash of col ar was given with the red carna tions placed In a large silver bowl In one corner of the large living room. The guests and hosteeew of the evening were Mr. and Mra. Green, vice president, and Mrs. George Dunsford, secretary-treasurer. a The executive committee of the American Legion auxiliary will meet tomorrow evening at 7:30 In the chamber of commerce rooms. .The ladies aid society of the Ja son Lee church will have an all say meeting with a pot luck lunch at noon In the church par lors on Wednesday. At 2:30 a business meeting will be held with reports on the recent cook ed food sale and plans for a chicken pie supper on March 27 occupying the members' attention The regular meeting of the War Mothers will be held tomor row afternoon In the chamber of commerce rooms. Mies Beth Hllleman of Mc- Minnvtlle was the week end house guest of Miss Carlotta Crowley. Mrs. George Hug will be host ess tomorrow afternoon at a meet ing of the Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae group. A "farewell" luncheon was given at the Spa on Thursday when the girls who are long distance operators at the tele phone office entertained in hon or of two of tbeir group who left on Friday to make their home in Portland. Lovely yellow Jonquils center ed the table and during the luncheon Miss Edith McFarland spoke for the group expressing regret at the departure of the two girls and wishing them good luck. Staley honoring Mies Marian Wyman. who will leave Wednesday tor southern-California to take up her new work as girl reserve sec retary with headquarters In El Centro. Misses Hermlna Klaus and Mies Anna Mclntyre of Salem, were the guests yesterday of Fred Klaus at the sisters' dinner at the Sigma Gamma house on the O. A. G. campus. Since the announcement of her Intended trip to Europe was first made among her friends Mrs. William H. Burghardt has been extensively feted. Mrs. Burg hardt leaves for Portland to night, for New York tomorrow and on March 14 she will sail on the Andania for Cherbourg. In all she will be gone aboue nine months. Although ehe will make the trip alone, in Paris she will join Mr. and Mrs. Dent Mowry, of Portland, who have been spend ing the winter there. Mrs. Burg hardt will study piano In Paris. She plans to visit In England and In Italy before returning to the states.
