For CHRONIC E : PROPOSED FOR BOXING BOUTS The boxing ordinance whi:h has been considered here for some time will be drawn up and pre sented to the city council for their next regular meeting, -and if It i& passed will give .he city complete pjwer in hurdling all of the fu ture fights. The bill will call for the appo' tment of a municipal boxing commission composed of five members which will be em powered to act wi'h full authority. The commission will have the right to hire a matchmaker, exam ine the athletes, regula'.e the gate receipts and to limit the time of the fight. The matchmaker will he given 20 per cent of the net re ceipts, but n t nsure than a total of 1U0. This ordinance is designed to control the gate receipts so that any Biirplus over $500 will go Into the civic emergency fund, which can be spent as the mayor or oth ers may see fit. The surplus mon ey will be placed with he city treasurer. The commission will also have the power to hire a ref eree, to examine the boxers tak ing part on the card so as to pre vent fighters that are unfit from appearing. Portions of the bill are designed to give the commission the right to regulate the number of rounds to be fought in the main events. It is thought than en three minute rounds will be considered as the main event. Besides regulatint, the examin ing the boxers as to their physical fitness, the commission will also he empowered to see that '.he con testants weighing less than 135 poundd wear ti-ounce gloves, llox era who tip the scales at more will be required to wear 8-ounco gloves.
