J4 LINEN MILL TO BUILD IN NORTH SALEM rlContinued from Page One) ceived from Ireland in connection with the machinery and when the floor plan Is definitely knawn the directors will select the definite site (or the plant and determino on just how much of a building is needed for the first unit. The first building will bo a factory building according to present plans. Operations wilt all be by electric power. Location Ideal The new site is considered an ideal location for an Industrial proposition of this kind. It backa onto the Southern Pacific rail road tracks with plenty ot room for any spurs that are needed and a Urge number of switch tracks handy already installed. In ad dition It faces on the Pacific Highway which will give it direct connection with all freight truck Hues operating between here and Portland. The factory Is also Ideally lo cated, it is thought, so far as the abor market is concerned. There will be no intention of attempting to use anything like the full eight ane one-halt acres of property at first, the large tract being purchased tor purposes of expansion. As that end of the city is growing rapidly, and prop erty Is constantly increasing in value, purchase of the large tract is considered an economical move as in a few years land in the north end will be of materially enhanced value according to all realty prophets and considerable diffi culty might be had in securing ad ditional land when expansion was desired. If upheld by the supreme court would invalidate a number uf actions taken by the present ex ecutive in Marion county. The most outstanding case un der tho present administration would be that of Knute Anderson, who was convicted on February 21 of this year ot the manufacture of liquor and possession of a still acd acntence to serve three months In jail and pay a $500 fine. He was reprieved on May 19, his reprieve to he up November 19. There Is no further record in connection with his case, l.idicating that the time for his reprieve to expiro Is past due and he has served no more of his sentence. Under Judge Skipworth's decision the governor's move Issuing him a re prieve is without legal author ity. The governor Llso Issued a re prieve to Ray Jones, sentenced May 10, 1323, to 30 days nnd pay a fine ot $500 for possession of liquor. He was reprieved for 30 days to get in his crop but re turned and served out the balance ot his sentence. Another reprieve was granted to E. A. Llgoa tor possession ot liq uor, he being sentenced June IS 1923. to three months and pay a fine of $300. He was repiieved September 8, 1933, bis fine to be paid to Justice Kuntz, under terms of the reprieve.
