John V. Harbison read an in
structive and entertaining paper
on "Women of the Revolution."
Mrs. Harbison used as her subject
matter the achievements and ser
vices rendered by women often
overlooked by historians. Begin
ning with Martha Washington,
whom she showed to be the real
Instigator of the Red Cross move'
ment, Mrs. Harbison gave, in
turn, a bit of the heroism nml
nobility of such women as Molly
Pitrhi, Lydia Darrah, Emily
Geiger, Deborah Samson, Abigail
Adams, Elizabeth Martin, Es titer
Ileed, Mrs. David Wright. Re
