The regular number ot traffic officers for the year was 13, though at time as many as 17 were employed. Other important statistics in tha report covering the year's work are: Delinquent automobile license fees collected, $33,429.03; fines imposed as a result of arrests by operatives ot the department, $28,751.15; value of stolen cars recovered, $16,300; motor vehicle license fees collected from cars registered in other states, and whose owners have established residences in Oregon, $067.75; to tal amount of revenue for which credit is claimed by the depart ment, $88,158.62.. Warnings or notice of violation lips to the number ot 9580 were issued to motor vehicle operators who were observed violating the inw in some minor degree, me total arrests for the year num bered 1670, fewer in number by almost 200 than during tne pre vious year. Candler, recent bride of the multi-millionaire coca cola ting ot Atlanta, Go., has been barred from hie marble mansion there, following her arrest with two men. William J. Stoddard and G. W Keeling, in a fashionable apartment, all being charged with being "oc cupants of a dive." A bottle ot liquor they were drinking was confis cated, Stoddard declared they were having a "bUBlnesB conference," Mrs. Candler having been his stenographer six years before her mar rlage, Candler has juBt successfully defended a $500,000 alienation oi affections suit brought against him by Mrs. Onezlma de Bouchell, of New Orleans.' After breaking that engagement he married his present wife, who was Mrs. Mary Little Rogio, a public stenographer. Denver, Colo., Feb. 21. Police Tuesday night reported the rival here of a refrigerator car filled with bonded liquor. A heavy guard was placed around the car whfch will be turned over to fed eral prohibition agentB. Police said the car had been shipped from "some point in Cali fornia'' to an unnamed consignee in Cleveland, Ohio, billed as "nou intoxicatlng wine." They believed Ihe car contained at least 1000 cases ot bonded liq uor, and estimated the value at ap proximately $200,000. In the absence of the president, Dr. Findley presided at the meeting. FELDER DENIES COLLECTING COIN New York, Feb. 21. Thomas B. Felder, the attorney who yes terday was attacked in the senate by Senator Wheeler of Montana In connection with remarks about At torney General Daugherty, das challenged the senator to repeat his statements after foregoing senatorial Immunity. Senator Wheeler's statement that "the newspapers in New York carried the details of how the at torney general's former partner, and friends, Mr. Felder, was col lecting money for the purpose of selling offices and appointments and for the dismissal of the whis ky cases in the city of New York" was road to Mr. Felder, and he is sued tho following statement: "There is not a word of truth In Senator Wheeler's ridiculous charges against me except that 1 was Mr. Daugherty 's former friend. I am his friend today. I was never his partner. We were associated in many cases in former years, but since hobecame attor ney general, I have never accept ed any employment from any client In any matter that originat ed in the department of Justice."
