The ordinance for the improve ments on portions of Cherry,, ki lls, Ulrch and Hayter streets, wa presented and the auditor was in structed to advertise for bids, which will be opened on June 20, at 88 o'clock. An ordinance against the em plowment of aliens in any city work was also passed. It provides that contractors are required to keep a list of all employes, sain list to be subject to the inspection of any of the city officials at any time and that if alliens are em played on city work without the consent of the council, the con tract becomes void. The discussion of the bond is ue at the special election for July 7 was one of the topics which created much interest and plans were made for informing the peo ple us to the true conditions and needs of a septic tank and sewer system. Mr. Arnold Cady, of the International Bank ing Company's Yokohama of fice was chosen unanimously to head the Tokio-Yokohama post of the American Legion at a meeting held in Yokohama recently. Mr. Cady's first duty was to aid in the entertain ment for General Leonard Wood and the American mission the Philippines. , Mr Cady succeeds Mr. Alvin .1 Accola, of the Truscon Steel Company's Tokio office.
