C. A. gym nasium by association officials fof the people of Salem, and imme diately following the reception. ftrogram will be held. The Independence Post of the Am erican Legion will have for their officers during the ensuing year, as a result of the recent election the following: Commander Gaylord G Godfrey: vice commander, Em erson Groves; adjutant, Glen Smith finance officer, J. S. Lawrence: executive committee, B. M. Walk er B. B. Thompson, E. E. Addi son, J. H. Henkle, Verd Schrunk, Mr. Godfrey, the new commander was a commissioned officer in the infantry having been commissioned on merit. He enlisted as a private and worked himself up by strict attention to duty. He is now em ployed as head clerk in the J. G. Mcintosh store. G. Heekebach of the Marion Cream- ry & Produce company. The bicycle, which was standing In front of the y. M. C. A. last raight was stolen wtihln n few niin wtos after young Deckebach went nto the Y building. His first bi cycle stolen this year was taken rom in front of hie father's home i July.
