Telephone communication between here and Sa lem was hindered Tuesday by reason of the storm Monday night which laid telephone poles flat on the ground for a quarter of a mile or more at Central Howell. Linemen are making thl nec essary repairs which will restore com munication. , Mrs. F. M. Peyton visited her hus band in Salem yesterday. Mr. Peyton Is employed as electrician at the new paper mill. Delbert Reeves Post of the American Legion of Silverton went on record at a meet ing held some time ago as opposed to the bonus proposed for ex-soldiers and '( resolutions were adopted to that ef fect. .They contend that the men went into the service for the sake of their country nnd the Silverton boys feel that they do not want a bonus and have none coming. - Preparations are being made by the 0.
