Burial in Odd Fellows cemetery Thursday at three i 'clock. ARMENIAN LECTURE Mrs. O. F. Lamson will deliver a lecture on the situation in Armenia and the near east Thursday, January 29, at 7:30 p. m. in the Methodist church on the corner of State and Church streets, Salem, Oregon. Mrs. Lamson is a most interesting speaker, a graduate of the John Hop kins university, a practicing physi cian, author of several books, a lead er in Seattle clubs and society affairs. Her lecture was heard with delight recently by Portland audience. Mrs. Lamson is an Armenian by birth, and will entertain by telling of the dress and custom of the people of that country. The people of Salem are cordially invited to attend this lecture which is free. No subscription or donation will be taken. Stack who has resigned. No Bids On Passenger Sups Yet Accepted Washington, Jan. 29. No bids for the 30 former passenger liners offer ed for sale by the shipping board have as yet been accepted. Chairman Payne declared today, and the neces sity for further consideration of the proposals received will delay any act ion until Monday. The protest of Secretary Baker against the sale of some of the ships wanted by the army for the trans port reserve is not expected by the chairman to result in a controversy.
