By Scot Heisel Wallowa County Chieftain A cast of devoted new staff members is creating a buzz at Alpine Meadows in northwest Enterprise, Wal- lowa County’s lone golf course. While the weather has remained mostly cold and windy, the grounds crew has been diligently preparing the FRXUVHIRULWVRI¿FLDORSHQLQJ day of Friday, April 1. At the same time, there’s a burst of QHZ FRORU DQG QHZ ÀDYRUV popping inside the revamped clubhouse. His primary goal early on is to make the clubhouse a destination for golfers and non-golfers alike. “We’re trying to make this just a great place to hang out 2004 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE LIMITED STOCK # 10274D, 124,284 MI. To that end, Bivens and his crew have given the club- house a makeover, with fresh paint throughout and a reno- vated men’s locker room (the Ladies Association renovated their own locker room last year). The clubhouse will still feature a full bar, but the food menu will have an all- new look as longtime Joseph barbecue expert and caterer Sherri Currie takes charge of the kitchen. “She’s the barbecue queen,” Bivens said. “This menu is going to be great. I can’t wait for people to come check it out.” Currie formerly owned Holy Smokes Bar-B-Que on Main Street in Joseph. Her new menu will include pulled pork, beef brisket and baby back ribs, as well as breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Upstairs, the clubhouse has a meeting room with a full kitchen that is available to rent for gatherings, meet- ings, reunions, receptions, etc. Outside, Greg Oveson of Wallowa takes over as course superintendent. Oveson and his crew were hard at work Tuesday removing branches from the course and prepar- ing greens and tee boxes. The Alpine Meadows clubhouse will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week until mid-October. The clubhouse will host an open house from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 1. 1999 FORD 2013 VOLKSWAGEN F350 SUPER DUTY CC SPORT STOCK # 10405A, 251,118 MI. 4WD, A/C, 7.3 NAVISTAR POWERSTROKE DIESEL! 6 SPEED MAN, LOADED LARIAT Pr ic e $12,495 STOCK # 10412, 60,094 MI.
