The latest news (shortly be-
fore noon on Tuesday) is that
a ¿re line of nearly .5 miles
has been constructed along
the southern perimeter and
of¿cials estimate seYen more
miles of line will be needed to
contain the ¿re along 5oads

On the northern perime-
ter of the ¿re, ¿re¿ghters are
looking for places to set up
their defenses, and new whiz-
bang protections, such as
¿re-retardant gel spray on the
surface of threatened build-
ings, are being considered as a
way to protect property in the
Turkey Tail area in Columbia
County, Wash.
Just to spice things up,
a new ¿re on the north edge
of the Grizzly Bear Complex
was reported Tuesday morn-
ing. It’s been named Green

far.
A Yehicle accident also oc-
curred Monday night when a
¿re engine got too close to a
road-edge in the steep country
and rolled. Three ¿re¿ghters
were transported to the hos-

doing well.
The )orest 6erYice reports
there are now approximately
