Christman’s service spotlighted Sergeant Alix Christ- man, a 2010 graduate of Enterprise High School, reported for Boot Camp in August 2010 and earned her Eagle, Globe and An- chor in November of that year. After completing boot camp and additional spe- cialized training at Camp Lejeune, S.C., she was stationed at Camp Pendle- ton, Calif., for three years, during which she deployed to Afghanistan for eight months. Alix was promoted to Corporal while deployed and promoted to her current rank of Sergeant in April 2014. A logistics specialist, she is now stationed at MAR- FORRES, Marine Forces Reserve, in New Orleans. Alix is a First Degree black belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts, a Third Award Expert marksman and an instructor for the Corporals Course. Besides her regular du- ties, Alix volunteers her time at Special Olympics events, USMC Toys for Tots and is a Sexual Assault Uni- formed Victims Advocate. Grand jury drops assault charge Following an alleged Jan. 26 domestic violence incident that initially planted 33-year- old Tyler Douglas Long in the Union County jail facing one felony and three mis- demeanor charges, on Feb. 24 a Wallowa County grand jury dropped the assault-4, Class C felony charge against Douglas and indicted him on three Class A misdemeanor charges and one Class B mis- demeanor. According to Circuit Court records, Long initial- ly was accused of physically injuring Hannah Staicoff on Jan. 26. Staicoff is an adult documented as living at the same rural Enterprise address as Long. The felony charge was dropped, but Long still fac- es one Class A misdemeanor charge for the same offense. In addition, Long was indict- ed on two separate Menacing Class A misdemeanor charges IRU DOOHJHGO\ ¿ULQJ D VKRW- JXQ WKURXJK WKH ÀRRU RI WKH residence plus throwing and smashing furniture against a wall. The Class B misde- meanor charge alleges that Long made “offensive physi- cal contact” with Staicoff. Long, released on bond, was arraigned Feb. 25 in the Wallowa County Courthouse and is scheduled for an April 8 hearing plea. EHS pair selling used prom dresses again ENTERPRISE — Emma Hall and Sarah Madsen, two seniors from Enterprise High School, are collecting used prom dresses which they will be displaying at Stage 1. This is the third year that Hall and Madsen are operat- ing a business that they call Pride & Preju-Dress.
