Only 22 years old, the slender Aaron has developed into the "sol id man" of the team; Joe Adcock, Ed Mathews and Johnny Logan break out in rashes of hits at times but Aaron keeps driving to ward what he believes will be his first National League batting title. Aaron has been belting the ball at a .455 clip this month. In the last 21 games he has lifted his av erage from .293 to a league-leading .337-mark. Hank was at it again Friday night when the Braves drubbed the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-0, be hind Bob Buhl's two-hitter. Hank smashed a two-run homer and col lected two other hits to drive in total of four runs in pacing the Braves to their 10th win in 11 games. Toby Atwell, purchased from Miami earlier this week, also hit a two-run homer in his first at-bat for the Braves to make it easy for Buhl to register his fourth straight victory and 12th of the season. The Rcdlegs remained two games behind the Braves when l Smoky Burgess' two-run 12th in 'ning homer gave them a 6-4 deci sion over the Pittsburgh Pirates and their sixth win in seven games. The Pirates took an early 4-0 lend but Ted Kluszewski hit his 21th homer of the year with two aboard in the fifth and Wally Post hammered out his 17th round tripper in the seventh to tie the score. Johnny Klippstein won his eighth game. ' v-. 1 Carlos Bernier was forced home on a walk for the first Hollywood tally in the initial frame and then Bernier came across for the Stars again in the -second innisg by scor ing all the way from lirst on a single by Spook; Jacobs. Bernier was able to cover all that distance because the Beavers were trying to. trap Jacobs in a rundown. Portland pulled a triple play in the third Inning and in the fourth came through with four runs to take a 3-2 lead. The Stars bounced back to tie the game in the. fifth when Jacobs, after singling and being sacrificed to second, "scored on a double by Danny Kravitz.
