Pairings Set For Ladies Golf Tourney Pairings fo the Bend golf club ladies' spring handicap tourna ment have been set, and May 26 has been scheduled as the final day for the playing of matches. On this week's ladies' day at ' the club Mr. W. A. Grimsley and Mrs. Pat Cashman won the A class medal play with low gross and low net scores respectively. In the B class play, Mrs. Loyde mauley scored low gross and Mrs. Lloyd Abrams and. Mrs Charles Boardman .tied with low net. ...! Mrs. Kay Thompson took class C honors. A blind partners tour ney has been set for ladies' day next Wednesday. spring handicap pairings are divided into a championship, 18- hole flight and a nine-hole flight. The 18-hole flight is as fojlows: Mrs. George Thompson vs. Mrs. Harold , Waterman, Mrs. Pat Cashman vs. Mrs. Loyde Blakley, Mrs. E. C. Sullivan vs. Mrs. Del bert Hale. Becker, 20, of Yakima, Wash., was held on a larceny charge today because he picked the wrong prospective customer in an alleged phony magazine sub scription scheme. Salcedo spun to the earth as a result of the "Toro's" charge, but scrambled to his feet uninjured. Softball Session Set at Madras Special to The Bulletin MADRAS Softball fans will have their first opportunity of the year to see teams in action on Saturday when the third annual Jefferson county Softball league jamboree is held onrthe Madras union high school diamond. The afternoon's entertainment, set to start at 2 will consist of 16 innings of ball, pitting the five Softball league teams in a single elimination tournament, Warren Albright, league secretary, has announced. . Players, managers, and inter ested individuals have been asked to meet at the field tomorrow (Friday) at 6 p.m. to level the field and get it in shape for the coming season. First regular game of the season will match Earl's Super Market and Culver Seed, May 24, on the Madras dia mond. All regular season games are planned for 6 p.m. The jamboree will feature four games of four innings each with Earl's and Pacific Supply Cooper ative meeting in the first game. The winner of this contest will play Culver. Meanwhile, Bend Portland Truck Service and Jeff erson Potato company will battle for a place in the finals. The 36-year-old right-hander did it again last night for the second time in five days as he six-hitted the Sacramento Solons for a 6-1 victory which rotated the Twinks back into first place. Oakland's Oaks made it a com plete shuffle of the first division as they swapped places with San Diego by virtue of a 6-3 win over the Padres. The Los Angeles Angels crept to within a half game of fifth place Seattle with an 8-3 victory, their third in a row over the Rainiers. and the San Francisco Seals con tinued their fight to get out of the doghouse by downing Portland 5-3 to bring the Beavers within a game and a half of loop purgatory.. Queen Wins Ninth Oueen Ditched Hollywood into first place last Saturday and then on Wednesday night Marino fie- retti of Sacfamento pitched them right out again. -So last night the Hollywood ace reeistered his ninth victory in a row since a season-opening loss, improved his already excellent earned-run-average and whacked a three-run double in his team's bie inning. The Twinks scored live runs in the eiehth limine, four ol them un earned, to break a 1-1 tie and bust up a good ball game. Sacramento's Emil Patrick, who clouted a homer for his squad s only tally, deserved a better fate tlten the three errors that were committed behind him.
