Several hundred early birds were lined up all night, joking, playing cards, listening to port able radios and nibbling light lunches. Officials said it was the greatest Rose Bowl ticket rush in history. The tickets, half on sale at the Civic auditorium here and half at the Coliseum in Los Angeles, were all that were available to the public. Folks this is the last "blast" until Christmas and that coming on Tuesday there will be none then sc I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very, very Merry Christmas. Certainly it will be for many people in the world, but if all we hear is true there are several hundred thousand returned veterans who have missed getting home due to transportation facilities. Let's give those boys at least a thought because it would be really tough to be that close to home after a long separation and be held up at this time of year. This is one Christmas when the people of United States can say with heartfelt thanks peace on earth toward men of good will. And I hope none of you have "turkey hang-overs," or any other kind.
